Photoshop Instructions for Making a Repeating Pattern from an iOrnament Tile

  • Transfer the tile file to your computer using AirDrop, iCloud, or Dropbox.

  • Open the tile file in Photoshop.

  • Choose Select All from the Select Menu (Command-A on a Mac).

  • From the Edit menu, choose Define Pattern…

  • Give the pattern a name.

  • Open the Pattern Master 4.5x5.5.psd file.

  • Open the Layers window and look for Pattern Fill layer. Click on the icon to the right of the “eyeball.” It’s the one with the little triangle slider on it.

  • Click on the thumbnail of the pattern on the left, and choose the pattern you just created. Adjust the scale to 6%. Click OK.

  • Preview the pattern, and see if it’s the right size. If not, double-click on the icon in the Layers window again, and adjust the size. Preview and change if necessary.
